100 years of Fasoli Gino Winery

Once upon a time there was a man, a dream and a carboy delivered by hand. The year was 1925. Since then, a hundred vintages, a hundred springs, a hundred winters. Today we are here to celebrate not just a wine, but a vision: that of the Fasoli family. A story of land and courage, of choosing organic farming when nobody believed in it, of a future imagined with roots in the past.

“Our present is merely other people’s past, and who we are today is inseparably bound to those who came before us.”

Natalino Fasoli

This conviction has always guided the actions of Fasoli Gino something of a creed that shapes the company – from working the fields to the passion in the cellar and the deep satisfaction it brings. Today’s successes are the result of devoted daily effort of ancient origins, infused with warm summer dawns glimpsed through lush vines, pruned shoots in the autumn dusk, eagerly awaited buds at the end of winter and in the triumph of lights, colours, leaves and blossoms of spring – with one’s feet firmly planted, heart in the soil, hands in the bunches, and fingers among the grapes.

Ristori Theater in Verona, April 8, 2025. 100 years of the Fasoli Gino Winery. A life for wine.

One hundred years among vines, almost half of which were spent in the world of organic wine. “In the beginning it was an allergy to chemical agents. From there we inaugurated a new path that still dictates our path. Because when the past gives you ethics, it is no longer past but is future.” This is the idea that accompanies Cantina Fasoli Gino as it celebrates its centenary with a new special Red Wine, a “best of” of its production that was presented to operators and industry experts during anexclusive event at Verona’s Teatro Ristori. Entitled “Lives for Wine,” the evening is dedicated to a century of family history and scheduled in the setting of the 57th Vinitaly. “The wine of a hundred years is nothing but the summa of all our single-vineyard reds,” so Natalino and Matteo Fasoli, third and fourth generations of the winery founded in 1925 in Colognola ai Colli, in the eastern Veronese Val d’Illasi. A reality of excellence that has been a pioneer in the organic sector since 1986, an experimenter in the biodynamic method since 2006 and today projected towards a horizon with a high rate of sustainability: “Within two years we will reach energy autonomy between photovoltaic panels, recovery of heat produced by machinery as a new source to heat the offices and reuse of rainwater.”

A singular thread weaves through all of Fasoli Gino’s products and entrepreneurial endeavours, linking today’s fabric to what once was and keeping tomorrow in sight: their deep care for the environment, nourished by passionate devotion to their work, as revealed through so many lives lived for wine, their respect for consumers, and their genuine focus on the individual. Honouring traditional values while aspiring towards the future has been a steadfast belief shared by the whole Fasoli family, for generations.

“This represents the best of our past, our present joy, and wholehearted enthusiasm for our future.”

Matteo Fasoli
