Amarone should be bottled under the “La Corte del Pozzo” line, which represents our strong connection with the grape suppliers who used to gather around our well as early as the early 1900s. To this day, we continue to work with the same families from 40 years ago, and with the La Corte del Pozzo line, we dedicate a part of our history to them.

Vinification:

Harvest: Manual selection of the sparsest bunches, well ripe and suitable for drying.
Drying: The grapes are left in small wooden crates to rest in the fruit cellar for a period of 5-6 months.
Fermentation: In steel tanks for a duration ranging from 25 to 35 days.
Aging: The wine is passed into oak barrels, where it remains to refine for a long period of at least three years.

Terroir and viticulture:

The Amarone “La Corte del Pozzo” originates from vineyards on clay and limestone soil, located on the last mountain foothills. The training system used is the traditional Veronese short pergola, with a yield of 50 quintals per hectare.

Organoleptic characteristics:

• COLOR: Bright red with violet reflections when bottled, tending towards garnet red, warm and enveloping after a few years of refinement.
• BOUQUET: Notes of ripe fruit, plums, blackberries, cherry syrup and spices such as cinnamon and cloves.
• TASTE: The alcohol content is accompanied by the excellent body structure, tannins and aromas of ripe fruit. Wine with great body and structure.

Food and wine:

The qualities of “La Corte del Pozzo” Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG are best appreciated with the following pairings:
• Red meat: Braised meat in red wine, Florentine steak, fillet with green pepper
• Game: Stewed wild boar, baked deer, jugged hare
• Mature cheeses: Parmigiano Reggiano aged 36 months, farmed Monte Veronese, spicy Gorgonzola
• Dessert: Also excellent at the end of a meal combined with biscuits and almond-based dry pastries

Storage and service:

• Optimal serving temperature: 16-18°C
• Decantation: Recommended, especially for older vintages
• Aging potential: Over 20 years in optimal storage conditions
• Storage: In a cool, dark place, with the bottle lying down
• Available formats: 750 ml (standard bottle), 1.5l (Magnum)
• Recommended glass: Large tulip-shaped glass to best appreciate the complex bouquet
